Chief Fire Officers Association Policy (CFOA) 2010

The fire section of our business is still changing with the final introduction of this policy and the requirement for third-party inspection. We are well prepared for this having three regional offices in the South, Midlands and North accredited to NSI Fire Gold for the BAFE 203 Scheme. In addition our CMC is already tackling the response policies for unwanted fire signals to save the Fire and Rescue Services from attending unwanted fire signals.

(DD) 263:2010 Intruder and hold-up alarm systems. Commissioning, maintenance and remote support. Code of practice.

Maintenance of Intruder and hold-up system installed at the customer’s premises may include remote system checks as part of the overall preventative maintenance programme. The purpose of maintenance is to ensure that the system’s integrity is maintained and that it is fully functional. Such maintenance prevents minor problems becoming major problems, this enables Abel Alarm engineers to correct physical, electrical and electronic faults and allows software updates to take place.

Abel Alarm can also offer remote support which permits a range of tasks to be carried out from simple capture of system event records or other parameters, through to remote system checks, under manual or automatic control, using the self-diagnostic capabilities of the intruder system.

Abel Alarm adheres to DD 263 which gives recommendations for the commissioning, on-site corrective and preventative maintenance, remote system checks and remote support of intruder systems.
